Women's Logic: Pain is Beauty
A minute earlier, we were laughing, now we're crying.
Such is the common happening when women are excited when going to the spa and when they are getting treated.
A while ago, actually, months ago, a friend and I have been planning on getting a facial to get that beautiful, glowing facial skin. We always ended up getting a rain check, because we were too lazy to get out of our houses on Saturdays.
Finally, on a Thursday, yesterday to be precise, we spontaneously decided to just do it. So, right after work, Dindin and I went to Oroderm Facial Spa, Southway branch to be pampered. It took us a while to decide on the type of facial, but we decided on the Acne Facial Spa worth PhP 550.
We were talking about random stuff while lying on the tables, and then it began. The first prick was tolerable, the second was okay. Later on, I can hear Dindin sniffling because of the pain. I was tearing up myself.
You know the feeling of being black and blue all over and tense at the same time? Each prick made me brace myself and everytime the aesthetician let up even for just a few seconds, my body would feel relief. There's also the feeling of wanting to really cry, but you don't want to, because you're too embarrassed. At one point, I could hear Dindin cry out, "Aray, Madam!" (Ouch, Madam!). It sounded as if she was being bullied. Her aesthetician was even singing along to the music being played on the radio, while Dindin cried, so it really did sound like someone torturing somebody. It went on like that for like, an hour something.
Poor girl must be regretting the facial now, I thought.
I did not escape unscathed, though, every sniffle from Dindin evoked a little laugh from me. On the outside.
On the inside, I was screaming, yelling and cursing the aesthetician. I was imagining grabbing onto her hair as if to transfer the pain my face was feeling at the time. I really did think I was gonna go home with black and blue spots on my face. O_O
While getting treated, since it was our first time, we decided to go all the way. It was like getting two sessions when we upgraded to the AHA Treatment Facial Spa. It was worth PhP 950, but we get to come back for a follow up (or should I say, touch up?) facial within the next three days, so we're going on a Saturday afternoon.
Anyway, we were pretty pleased after the session. We both ended up with red pock marks and pain all over our faces, but we acknowledge that it's a temporary thing. The more important thing is, we can't feel a single bump and rough spot on our faces.
Ah, the things a lady does for beauty. :D
