Jardin Maria Clara
It's about time I featured Jardin Maria Clara on here since I've been going to that park a couple of times now. Anyway, in preparation for today's marathon earlier, I ran with some friends who were also fellow participants yesterday. On the last run, there were only three of us, but this time, we were joined by Jayson, who was supposed to come to the last practice run, but instead slept through the morning.
Since this session was held on the afternoon, he finally managed to come. This park is famous for the Butterfly Sanctuary and umm, for couples who like to be lovey-dovey even during the day.
Can you see the couple in this picture?
We were running up that hill again and then we saw the couple. There's a fountain on top of the hill where people like to gather around with their picnic mats and take pictures with repetitive angles. It was just too bad that I was too lazy to go to the front to take a better picture of the fountain. The statue in the middle was actually made in the likeness of the late mayor, Maria Clara L. Lobregat, our current mayor's late mother.
This garden/park used to be just a useless piece of sloped land, that never got any visitors, but now, it's been transformed into a garden of flowers and butterflies and a park that groups of students, family members and joggers come to. The government only asks the visitors to pay PhP5 for motorcycle riders and PhP10 for those who have four-wheel vehicles. And you really don't have to pay for anything other than the parking fee.
It's cheap, so no complaints there.
I was running alongside with someone else in the party, but I forgot to take his picture, so meh. The last time I was here, I took the picture from downhill, this is how it looks like from the top of the hill.
After the run, we went outside for some balut, which I unfortunately forgot to take at least a picture of. The best part of this park is that the temperature is cool and the air feels so much fresher. It's a great place for building up those leg muscles.
